Andrew
Vasquez, Andrew, a long time resident of Orange County, CA passed away on Tuesday, June 23, 2009. Andrew was born in Salinas, CA on November 10, 1950 and has resided in the Los Angeles area for the past 13 years. In 1975, he began a 32-year career as an electrical engineer with Hughes Aircraft (L3 Communications). He was a dedicated engineer with many proud achievements including being a part of the team that designed propulsion engines for geosynchronous orbiting satellites. In retirement, he enjoyed power-selling on E-bay, managing a crash-pad in Philadelphia, trading stocks, and becoming a late-blooming reader. Andrew is survived by his wife of 37 years Stella Vasquez; son Andrew Vasquez and wife Carrie Nelson-Vasquez; grandkids Michael, Angela, and Marcus; sisters Pauline, Eloise, Rafaela, and Mary-Alice. A gathering of family and friends will be held on Tuesday June 30, 2009 from 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM at Rice Mortuary in Torrance, CA. Memorial Services will begin at 10:00 AM with a reception to follow at the mortuary.
