March 28, 1916 ~ February 19, 2007
Delyea, Alice Mary, a 12 year resident of Mill Creek, Washington, passed away on Monday, February 19, 2007. Born in Nebraska, Alice was 90 when she died.
Alice spent her childhood on a farm in Nebraska. As a young adult she moved to Los Angeles where she married husband Francis J. Delyea and raised her two children. She was a fan of Lawrence Welk and fondly remembered attending his shows and dancing the night away. She worked at the UCLA medical center as a hospital dietician for 20 years, an excellent career choice as she loved helping people and cooking for her family. After husband Francis passed away in 1981, Alice got her drivers license for the first time at age 65. She remained independent until the end. She loved keeping up with the world news and politics and discussing current events with friends and family.
She is survived by her Son, Joe (Susan) Delyea of Bend, OR; Daughter, Suzan Delyea of Mill Creek, WA; Grandson, Jim Delyea of Coto de Caza, CA; Grandson, Kevin Delyea of Tustin, CA; and 2 Great Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her Father, Adolph Skalka; and Mother, Paulina Skalka.
The Service will be held at Holy Redeemer Chapel at Holy Cross Cemetery in Culver City on Saturday February 24, 2007 at 10am. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.
