Alice "Michis", "Licha" Barnard was born on March 7, 1935 in Zacatecas, Mexico to Jose Jesus Delgado and Adella Almaraz. Alice was surrounded by close family and friends as she peacefully ascended to our lord in heaven on February 8, 2013 at Torrance Memorial Hospital. She is survived by her loving and devoted husband, Earl of 52 years, 2 sons (Frank and Earl Jr.) and their families, including 3 grandchildren (Anthony, Dane and Amber). She became a naturalized American citizen in 1976, became an active member of the Women's Society of Our Lady of Guadalupe Church and was invited to participate as an ambassador and translator with the sister city program with Loreto, Mexico in Hermosa Beach. As a parishioner of St. Catherine Laboure for the last 25 years, she was also a member of the Divine Mercy formation. She was a dedicated, devoted, loving wife and mother to her family and best friend to Yolanda Ramirez. She enjoyed spending quality time with her grandchildren, entertaining family and friends at her home and was a friend to all she met. She was always ready to extend a hand to anyone in need and maintained an unbreakable bond with her Roman Catholic Faith. She will be severely missed by all that knew her. A memorial service will be offered on Saturday, February 16, 2013 at 11:30 am at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church.
