ALEXANDRIA PLAKOS Alexandria Plakos, of Rancho Palos Verdes, died peacefully on October 18, 2011. She is survived by daughter Gail (Paul) Thomas of Granada Hills, son Paul (Bonnie) of Northern California, and loving grandchildren Andrea (Andrew) Turner and Michael Thomas. Alexandria was predeceased by her dear husband Louie in 1968. Born in Portland, Oregon in 1923, she moved to Los Angeles in 1948, following their marriage. With the early passing of her husband, she returned to the work-world, retiring from Aerospace Corp. in 1988. Alexandria found great spiritual strength and inspiration in her Greek Orthodox faith and was a member of the Daughters of Penelope and the Philoptochos Society. The Trisagion service will be held on Sunday, October 23, at 6:00 p.m. (viewing from 4:00 p.m.) at Rice Mortuary in Torrance. The funeral service will be held on Monday, October 24, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Katherine Greek Orthodox Church in Redondo Beach. Interment will follow at Inglewood Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
