Ugarte-Ayers, Aida Delores, a 48 year resident of the South Bay, passed away on Monday, June 20, 2011 in Torrance. Born in Madrid, Spain, Aida was 74 when she died. Aida was a member of St. Catherine Laboure Church in Torrance, CA. Aida, a professor of mathematics and physics in Madrid, Spain was also a graduate of Pepperdine University. She was a fan of classical music and sang professionally in Spain. Aida enjoyed her hobbies - Brazilian embroidery, beading and stained glass. Aida is survived by her husband of 28 years, Gerald Ayers of Torrance, CA; son, Alfred Ugarte of Torrance, CA; step-son, David Ayers of Dallas, Texas and 5 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Generosa and Raymond Exposito. A gathering of family & friends will be held at Rice Mortuary in Torrance on Thursday, June 30, 2011 from 5:00 pm to 9 pm. The Service will be held at St. Catherine Laboure Catholic Church in Torrance on Friday, July 1, 2011 at 11:00 am. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery in North Hollywood Hills.

She always talked fondly of your mother and I still remember when she came to our house from time to time. May she rest in peace.
